A major individual milestone could be on the cards as Royal Challengers Bengaluru prepare for a crucial IPL qualifier against Gujarat Titans in Dharamshala. All eyes will once again be on Virat Kohli, who is just a few runs away from entering record books with a unique achievement.
The experienced batter needs another 43 runs to become the first player in IPL history to score more than 600 runs across four consecutive seasons. Kohli has already crossed the 600 run mark in the 2023, 2024 and 2025 editions and now has the opportunity to extend that streak further.
The record gains even more attention considering only a handful of players have managed to maintain such consistency over multiple seasons. Until now, only three batters have achieved 600 plus runs in three successive IPL campaigns.
Chris Gayle reached the mark during the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons while David Warner achieved the feat during 2016, 2017 and 2019 campaigns. KL Rahul also joined the list with performances across the 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Kohli has been in impressive touch this season and continues to play a key role in Bengaluru’s batting lineup. In 14 innings so far, he has scored 557 runs at an average of 50.63 while maintaining a strike rate of 163.82.
With a place in the next stage at stake and a personal landmark within reach, the upcoming contest promises to add more excitement for fans. The clash against Gujarat could become another memorable chapter in Kohli’s IPL journey.
