A major fire accident at Madhubani Railway Station created panic after flames suddenly erupted inside a coach of the Antyodaya Express train. Thick smoke quickly spread across the area, alarming railway staff and people present at the station during the incident.
According to railway officials, the train was undergoing shunting operations for cleaning and technical maintenance work when the fire broke out. The Antyodaya Express was scheduled to travel from Jayanagar to Amritsar. As the train was being moved within the station premises, smoke was first noticed rising from one of the coaches before the fire rapidly intensified within minutes.
Railway Protection Force personnel and station authorities immediately rushed to the spot after noticing the flames. Officials acted quickly and detached the affected coach from the remaining compartments, preventing the fire from spreading to the rest of the train. Fire engines later arrived at the station and, with the support of railway staff, managed to completely control the blaze.
Authorities confirmed that no passengers were inside the train at the time of the incident, avoiding what could have turned into a major tragedy. However, the damaged coach suffered severe destruction, with most of its interior reportedly reduced to ashes.
Initial findings suggest that a possible short circuit in the electrical wiring may have triggered the fire. Senior officials of the East Central Railway have ordered a detailed investigation to identify the exact reason behind the accident and examine whether any safety lapses contributed to the incident.
