OnePlus Brings Motion Cues Feature to Nord 6 Series With Major System Enhancements

A new software update for OnePlus Nord 6 and Nord CE 6 introduces Motion Cues to reduce travel related discomfort while also improving battery efficiency camera stability network performance and security.

OnePlus has started rolling out a significant software update for its popular Nord 6 and Nord CE 6 smartphones, bringing a feature designed to make phone usage more comfortable during travel. The highlight of the update is Motion Cues, a new tool aimed at reducing motion sickness when users look at their screens while riding in moving vehicles.

Many smartphone users experience dizziness or discomfort when reading messages, browsing social media, or watching videos inside cars and buses. Motion Cues addresses this issue by displaying small animated indicators on the screen that move in sync with the vehicle’s motion. These visual cues help the brain better understand movement, reducing the mismatch between what the eyes see and what the body feels.

The feature works by reacting to acceleration, braking, and turning movements. As the vehicle changes direction or speed, the dots on the display adjust accordingly, creating a more natural visual experience. Users who frequently travel and struggle with motion sickness may find this addition especially useful.

OnePlus has placed the feature under the Accessibility and Convenience section of the settings menu, allowing users to enable or disable it with a simple toggle. The company says the feature has been designed to be easy to access and use whenever needed.

Apart from Motion Cues, the update also delivers the May 2026 Android security patch, ensuring improved protection against security vulnerabilities. The software package includes several under the hood improvements focused on enhancing overall device reliability and performance.

Battery optimization is another important part of the update. OnePlus says power consumption has been reduced, which should help users get better battery life during everyday use. While results may vary depending on individual usage habits, the optimization is expected to improve overall efficiency.

Camera performance has also received attention. The company has introduced refinements aimed at improving image processing and camera stability, helping deliver a smoother photography experience. Network compatibility and connection stability have also been enhanced to ensure more reliable communication and internet access.

The update further addresses a reported issue where some devices occasionally displayed a black screen after being unlocked. Users affected by this problem are expected to see improved stability after installing the latest software version.

The rollout is being carried out in phases, meaning not all users will receive it at the same time. The update arrives with software version CPH2805_16.0.5.901 for one model and CPH2793_16.0.5.901 for the other. With a package size of around 1.63GB, users are advised to connect to WiFi and ensure sufficient battery before downloading.

By combining practical travel focused features with broader performance and security improvements, OnePlus is aiming to deliver a more refined experience for Nord 6 series users. The introduction of Motion Cues in particular stands out as a thoughtful addition that could make everyday commuting more comfortable for many smartphone owners.
