The Hyderabad Cricket Association has announced the launch of the Telangana Premier League with an aim to provide young cricketers across the state a strong platform to showcase their talent and progress toward national and international cricket.

Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu, along with HCA secretary Manne Jeevan Reddy and Operations Head CEO Imtiaz Ali, shared details about the upcoming league during a press conference held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal.

Officials stated that around 3000 talented players from different parts of Telangana are expected to participate in the selection process for the league scheduled to begin next month. Organisers believe the tournament can play a major role in identifying future cricket stars from the state.

To ensure transparency in the selection process, the Hyderabad Cricket Association formed a ten member committee consisting of former cricketers. HCA secretary Manne Jeevan Reddy said the selection process will remain free from political influence and unnecessary interference.

In a major step toward fair evaluation, the association also introduced Artificial Intelligence based assessment methods for player selection. Officials explained that AI technology will help identify genuine talent through performance analysis and reduce chances of bias during trials.

The organisers further stated that every stage of the selection process will be monitored through video recordings and supported with proper physical documentation to maintain accountability and transparency.

Ambati Rayudu said leagues such as the IPL have transformed opportunities for young cricketers across India and added that the Telangana Premier League aims to create a similar pathway for players from the state.

He also mentioned that open trials and league matches would be conducted on a larger scale to ensure deserving players receive opportunities to perform. Final decisions regarding selections and league operations will be taken by the appointed committees.

The senior selection committee will be headed by P Akshanth Reddy, with T Suman, Mehdi Hasan, T Pawan Kumar and Inder Shekhar Reddy serving as members. The junior selection committee will be led by Akash Bhandari along with P Ramesh Kumar, Shoaib, Sarvesh Kumar and Timothy Kumar as members.
