Andhra Pradesh Offers 50 Percent Subsidy on Tractors and Farm Machinery

The Andhra Pradesh government has rolled out a major support scheme for farmers, offering subsidies on tractors and a wide range of agricultural machinery to reduce farming costs and improve productivity.

Under this initiative, funds worth 112.50 crore rupees have been allocated across 28 districts, covering both Kharif and Rabi seasons. The scheme provides a 50 percent subsidy to SC, ST, small and marginal farmers as well as women farmers, while other farmers are eligible for a 40 percent subsidy on the unit cost of equipment.

Farmers can avail benefits on various machinery including tractors sprayers seed sowing machines harvesters threshers fodder equipment and other essential tools required for modern agriculture. The selection of beneficiaries will be carried out through a lottery system conducted by the Joint Collector, followed by approval from the district in charge minister before final lists are released.

Eligible farmers will be identified based on land records forest rights documents and e crop data. Tenant farmers are also eligible, provided they have been registered in e crop records for at least three seasons in the past three years. However, farmers who already received subsidy benefits during 2024 25 are not eligible to apply again, and only one member per family can apply under the scheme.

Once selected, farmers will receive confirmation through mobile messages. They must pay their share of the cost to the dealer within 15 days, after which the machinery will be delivered within another 15 days. The subsidy amount will be released to dealers starting from June 30.

Applications for the scheme will be accepted from May 5 to May 19 through Rythu Seva Kendras or the official online portal. The lottery selection process will take place between May 23 and May 25. Farmers are expected to complete payments between May 26 and June 9, and machinery distribution will be carried out from May 26 to June 26.

Officials have urged all eligible farmers to take advantage of this opportunity and apply within the deadline to benefit from subsidised agricultural equipment and improve farm efficiency.
