A pastor from Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru district has been booked after the family of a minor girl accused him of abuse and intimidation. The case came to light after the teenager was admitted to hospital with health complications, prompting a police complaint.
According to police officials, the accused had been conducting prayer meetings at a church in Kamavarapukota mandal. The victim’s family, who regularly attended the gatherings, later approached authorities with allegations against him.
Investigators said the girl informed her mother about the alleged abuse after her health condition worsened. She was later shifted to a hospital in Eluru for treatment. Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched an inquiry into the matter.
Officials stated that the investigation is currently underway and all aspects of the allegations are being examined. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the minor in line with child protection laws.
The incident has raised concern among local residents, with the victim’s family demanding strict legal action. Police said further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
