A heartbreaking incident in Andhra Pradesh left a village mourning after two school students lost their lives while rescuing three friends who were drowning in a water pit.

Students rescue friends but lose their lives

A heartbreaking incident in Andhra Pradesh has left an entire village grieving after two school students lost their lives while trying to save their friends from drowning. What began as a casual afternoon outing for a group of classmates turned into an unimaginable tragedy within minutes.

Five students from Errabalem village in Korisapadu mandal of Prakasam district had gone to a nearby water pit on the outskirts of their village to swim. The boys, all studying in the same school, were spending their afternoon together when the situation suddenly turned dangerous.

Three students start drowning in deep water

According to local reports, three of the students identified as Akash, Prashanth and Akhil accidentally moved into a deeper section of the water pit. Unable to judge the depth of the water, the boys began struggling and crying for help as they started drowning.

Hearing their desperate calls, the remaining two friends Manipal, a ninth grade student, and Venkata Jaya Charan, an eighth grade student, immediately jumped into the water without hesitation. Determined to save their friends, the two boys managed to pull all three students to safety and bring them to the bank.

Village mourns the loss of young heroes

However, in the process of rescuing their friends, the two students became exhausted and lost control in the water. Before anyone could react, both Manipal and Jaya Charan drowned. Their heroic act saved the lives of their friends but tragically cost them their own.

Villagers rushed to the water pit after learning about the incident. The emotional scenes that followed left many in tears as the families of the two students broke down in grief. Parents and relatives were inconsolable as they saw the lifeless bodies of the boys who had shown extraordinary courage at such a young age.

Police officials including the Addanki Rural Circle Inspector, the Korisapadu Sub Inspector and local revenue authorities reached the spot soon after receiving the information. The bodies were later sent for postmortem examination and a case has been registered as police begin an investigation into the incident.

The bravery shown by the two young students has deeply moved the community, but their tragic loss has plunged Errabalem village into profound sorrow.
