The controversy surrounding the alleged adulterated ghee issue at Tirumala TTD once again took center stage during the Andhra Pradesh cabinet meeting. Ministers held detailed discussions as political exchanges intensified over the SIT investigation.
Concerns were raised over what the cabinet described as misleading claims being circulated by opposition leaders. Ministers expressed unease over attempts to project the case as closed even before the official SIT report is formally received.
Officials briefed the cabinet that the Special Investigation Team formed under the supervision of the CBI has already filed a chargesheet in the case. However, the complete report is yet to be officially submitted to the state government.
During the discussion, ministers reiterated that the alleged adulteration occurred during the previous government’s tenure. They cited financial transactions and questioned the production capacity of certain dairies involved in supplying ghee.
The cabinet was informed that some contractors allegedly used chemical mixtures to manufacture ghee despite lacking sufficient milk procurement capability. These details, ministers said, formed a crucial part of the investigation findings shared so far.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu strongly advised ministers to exercise restraint. He made it clear that the government would issue its response only after the SIT report is officially received and examined.
The Chief Minister also criticised efforts to divert blame and spread confusion. Referring to past controversies, he said such political tactics were familiar to the public and would not alter facts.
Reaffirming the government’s position, Chandrababu Naidu instructed all ministers to stay alert and avoid speculative comments. He stressed that clarity and accountability would follow only through the formal investigation process.
