Marking his birthday with a public gesture, N Chandrababu Naidu visited an Anna Canteen in Vijayawada along with his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari and personally served breakfast to visitors. The couple later joined the public for a simple meal, reflecting the spirit of inclusiveness the initiative represents.

Calling annadanam the most sacred form of service, the Chief Minister said no individual in Andhra Pradesh should suffer from hunger. He appealed to citizens to actively participate in food donation efforts, describing the state as one that has historically fed the nation.

During his interaction, he expressed satisfaction over the functioning of Anna Canteens, noting that they provide clean and quality food at a highly affordable price. He emphasized that these canteens are ensuring access to meals for the poor throughout the day, making a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

Highlighting the broader vision, Chandrababu Naidu stated that Anna Canteens are part of a larger social support framework aimed at uplifting the most vulnerable sections. He urged financially stable individuals to come forward and support those at the bottom of the economic pyramid.

He also took a swipe at the previous administration, alleging that the canteen system was discontinued earlier and those attempting to distribute food faced legal action. He said his government revived the initiative and expanded it across the state.

At present, hundreds of Anna Canteens are operational, with several new centers recently inaugurated and more set to open soon. The government aims to further strengthen the network to reach more beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister also appreciated Bhuvaneswari for contributing funds towards the operation of Anna Canteens for a day on the occasion of his birthday. He said such gestures should inspire more people to support the initiative and help transform it into a wider public movement.
