Pawan Kalyan to Campaign for BJP in Telangana Municipal Elections

In a significant political development, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has agreed to campaign in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party during the upcoming Telangana municipal elections, signalling stronger coordination between allied parties.

The decision was finalised after a meeting in Hyderabad where Pawan Kalyan held detailed discussions with Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and BJP Telangana president Ramchander Rao. The leaders reviewed the municipal election strategy and key political issues concerning the state.

According to BJP leaders, Pawan Kalyan responded positively to the request and confirmed that he would campaign for the party on February 7 and 8. Ramchander Rao later made the announcement public, stating that the discussions were meaningful and that Pawan Kalyan had extended full support to the BJP in the municipal polls.

Polling for the municipal elections is scheduled for February 11 across seven corporations and 116 municipalities in Telangana, with results expected on February 13. The elections will be conducted as per constitutional provisions and the Telangana Municipalities Act 2019, covering an electorate of over 52 lakh voters.

Political observers note that the elections could see a coordinated contest between BJP and Jana Sena, described by the parties as a friendly alliance, adding fresh momentum to the campaign landscape in Telangana.
