- Light to moderate rain likely in select districts
- Thunderstorms expected in a few locations
- Weather department advises public caution
A low pressure system that developed over the southwest Bay of Bengal has weakened but the associated circulation continues to influence weather conditions along the Andhra Pradesh coast. Meteorological officials say this circulation may intensify again into a low pressure area, increasing rainfall activity in the state.
According to the weather department, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected on Saturday and Sunday in Kadapa Annamayya Chittoor and Tirupati districts. A few other districts may also experience brief spells of light showers during this period.
Officials explained that the system is likely to move in a west northwest direction, drawing moisture from the Bay of Bengal. While no extreme weather is forecast, residents in affected areas have been advised to remain alert, especially during thunderstorm activity.
The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority urged people to avoid sheltering under trees during lightning and to take basic safety precautions. Farmers and daily commuters have been asked to plan activities keeping the changing weather conditions in mind over the next forty eight hours.
