The woman, aged 28, reportedly arrived in India on May 23, traveling from Uganda to Ahmedabad before reaching Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. During routine health screening at the airport, officials noticed symptoms that required further medical examination.
As a precautionary measure, medical teams immediately shifted her to a hospital for observation and treatment. Blood samples were collected and sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune for detailed analysis. Reports indicate that the test result was found to be negative.
Doctors have stated that the woman’s condition remains stable and she is currently under medical supervision. Health officials clarified that it is still too early to make conclusions regarding the exact cause of the symptoms.
Global concern over Ebola has been increasing due to rising cases reported in some African regions. Countries have strengthened screening procedures and surveillance systems at airports to identify possible risks at an early stage.
