Rail passengers traveling across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been put on alert as South Central Railway has announced the cancellation of several train services. The railway authorities confirmed that a total of 15 trains will remain cancelled until April 19 citing ongoing infrastructure and safety works.

According to officials the decision has been taken as part of essential track maintenance activities along with modernization efforts such as electrification track doubling and advanced signaling upgrades. These works are currently underway between Mahabubnagar and Manyamkonda stations involving non interlocking operations to ensure safer and more efficient train movement in the future.

The cancellations are expected to impact daily commuters significantly especially those relying on MEMU and DEMU services operating between major cities in both Telugu states. Busy routes connecting Vijayawada Visakhapatnam Kacheguda Guntur and Secunderabad have seen multiple local services being withdrawn temporarily.

Despite the inconvenience caused during the peak summer travel season railway authorities stated that these steps are necessary to enhance passenger safety and improve overall service quality. While some trains have been completely cancelled others have been partially cancelled or rescheduled with slight timing changes.

South Central Railway has urged passengers to make alternative travel arrangements and verify train details before heading to stations. Travelers are advised to check updates through railway enquiry systems or the National Train Enquiry System app to avoid last minute inconvenience.
