- Telangana government already sanctioned 3.60 lakh Indiramma houses.
- Beneficiaries receive financial assistance to build Indiramma houses.
The Telangana government has brought encouraging news for thousands of families waiting for homes under the Indiramma Houses Scheme. Officials have now fixed the timeline to begin the next phase of the housing program, which aims to support more eligible beneficiaries across the state.
Under the first phase of the scheme, the government has already sanctioned about 3.60 lakh houses, mainly for rural families who own land but lack the resources to build a home. Each eligible beneficiary is being provided financial assistance of five lakh rupees to construct a house.
The assistance is being transferred directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries in installments depending on the progress of construction. Authorities say the regular payments have helped speed up building activity in several villages. Many houses have already been completed and housewarming ceremonies have taken place, while others remain under different stages of construction.
The government has set a target to complete housewarming ceremonies for nearly one lakh houses by the end of this month. Officials are also focusing on completing the groundwork process for all houses sanctioned in the first phase so that construction moves smoothly.
Meanwhile, preparations for the second phase of the Indiramma Houses Scheme are underway. The government is expected to release the next list of beneficiaries in April after ensuring that most houses from the first phase have completed the groundwork stage. Currently, about twenty percent of the houses have finished the initial construction process, and officials are working to complete the remaining work before March thirty one.
Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has also directed officials to ensure that payments to beneficiaries are not delayed once the construction process begins. Authorities have been asked to closely monitor material prices so that rising costs do not affect families building their homes.
The government is also reviewing the progress of the double bedroom housing scheme and has instructed officials to complete beneficiary selection before the end of March. Priority will be given to poor families who do not own land.
Officials say the housing initiatives will also be linked with the Praja Palana Pragathi report program planned for ninety nine days, during which additional houses may be sanctioned. The state government believes the expanded Indiramma Houses Scheme will help thousands of families achieve the dream of owning a permanent home.
