Samsung expands One UI 8.5 beta to more Galaxy smartphones including mid range devices

Samsung expands its One UI 8.5 beta program to more Galaxy smartphones across multiple regions giving users early access to new features improvements and Android 16 based software experience

Samsung users have a reason to be excited as the company begins expanding its latest One UI 8.5 beta program to a wider range of Galaxy smartphones. Unlike previous updates that were largely limited to premium foldable devices, this rollout now includes several flagship and mid range models, offering a broader group of users early access to upcoming features.

The beta program, based on Android 16 QPR2, is already live in select markets including India, South Korea, Germany, Poland, the United States and the United Kingdom. This means eligible users in these regions can enroll and experience the next generation of Samsung’s software before its official release.

Samsung has significantly widened the list of supported devices this time. The program includes flagship models like the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup and Samsung Galaxy S23 family. Foldable devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 are also part of the rollout, continuing Samsung’s focus on premium innovation.

Interestingly, the company has also brought mid range devices into the mix, including the Samsung Galaxy A36. This marks a shift in strategy, as earlier beta programs were rarely extended to non flagship models. The move suggests Samsung is aiming to make its software ecosystem more inclusive and consistent across different price segments.

For users eager to try the update, the process is straightforward. After opening the Samsung Members app and signing in, users can look for the One UI Beta Program banner and enroll by accepting the terms. Once registered, the update can be downloaded through the software update section in settings. However, since this is a beta version, users are advised to back up their data beforehand as early builds may contain bugs or stability issues.

The One UI 8.5 update is expected to bring several AI driven enhancements, smoother performance and refined user interface elements. While Samsung has not revealed the complete list of changes, early access users will be among the first to explore these improvements.

With more devices likely to be added in the coming weeks, Samsung’s latest beta rollout signals a stronger push toward delivering faster and wider software updates. For many Galaxy users, this could make their existing devices feel refreshed and significantly more capable without needing an immediate upgrade.
