Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Debuts in India With Privacy Display and Advanced AI Features

New flagship lineup includes Galaxy S26 S26 Plus and S26 Ultra powered by Exynos 2600 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 enhanced AI tools upgraded cameras and limited time storage upgrade offer

Samsung has officially introduced its Galaxy S26 series in India, bringing three new flagship smartphones aimed at users who want a mix of performance, privacy and intelligent software features. The lineup includes the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus and the top tier Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, each targeting a slightly different segment of premium buyers.

The spotlight this year is firmly on artificial intelligence and user privacy. Samsung has integrated a range of Galaxy AI tools across the series. Features such as Now Assist offer contextual suggestions based on on screen activity, while Call Screen can answer unknown numbers and provide live transcripts. Photo Assist brings AI driven image editing, and Creative Studio introduces built in content creation tools. Bixby Device Agent enables voice based control over system settings, and Privacy Alert notifies users when apps attempt to access sensitive data. Select third party apps also support AI powered noise reduction.

The Ultra model stands out with a privacy focused display feature designed for crowded spaces. The 6.9 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel limits visibility beyond a 30 degree viewing angle, reducing the chances of shoulder surfing in public. The display supports 10 bit color output for improved color accuracy and is protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2. At just 7.9mm thick, Samsung claims this is its slimmest Ultra device to date, combining a large screen with a relatively sleek profile.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S26 Ultra runs on a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It offers up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of internal storage. The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery with support for 60W wired fast charging and 25W wireless charging. Samsung positions the Ultra as a productivity driven flagship without compromising on multimedia performance.

Photography remains a major focus, especially on the Ultra variant. It features a quad rear camera system led by a 200 megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization. The setup also includes a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, a 50 megapixel ultra wide lens and a 10 megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The system supports 8K video recording, HDR10 plus capture and enhanced stabilization for smoother footage. On the front, a 12 megapixel wide angle camera handles selfies and supports 4K video recording.

The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus share several core specifications. Both smartphones run Android 16 with Samsung One UI 8.5 layered on top. They are powered by the in house 2nm Exynos 2600 chipset, featuring a prime core clocked at 3.9GHz. Samsung says it has repositioned the vapor chamber cooling system around the chip edges, resulting in up to 29 percent better heat dissipation during heavy usage.

The standard Galaxy S26 features a 6.3 inch Full HD plus Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The larger Galaxy S26 Plus steps up to a 6.7 inch panel with a higher resolution of 1440 by 3120 pixels, also with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays are protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2.

In terms of cameras, the S26 and S26 Plus offer identical triple rear setups. This includes a 50 megapixel primary wide angle sensor with optical image stabilization, a 10 megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 12 megapixel ultra wide lens with a 120 degree field of view. A 12 megapixel front camera supports high resolution selfies and advanced video recording options, including 8K at select frame rates.

Battery capacity differs slightly between the two models. The Galaxy S26 houses a 4300mAh battery with 25W wired charging and wireless charging support. The Galaxy S26 Plus packs a larger 4900mAh battery and supports faster 45W wired charging. Both devices include 5G, Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, multiple satellite navigation systems and in display fingerprint sensors for biometric authentication.

Pricing for the Galaxy S26 starts at 87999 rupees for the 12GB and 256GB variant, while the 512GB model is priced at 107999 rupees. The Galaxy S26 Plus begins at 119999 rupees for the 256GB option and 139999 rupees for the 512GB version. The Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at 139999 rupees for 12GB and 256GB, rising to 159999 rupees for 512GB and 189999 rupees for the 16GB and 1TB configuration.
