Samsung Raises Prices Across Budget Smartphone Range in India
Buyers may feel the pinch as several Galaxy M and F series models see price increases of up to Rs 2000 starting April 8, impacting entry and mid range segments

Samsung has quietly revised the pricing of several of its popular budget and mid range smartphones in India, a move that is now in effect across retail and online channels. Customers planning to purchase a new device may notice that some models now cost more than they did just days ago.
The price adjustment, which came into force on April 8, affects multiple devices in the Galaxy M and F series. While the increase is not uniform, reports indicate that the hike ranges from Rs 500 to as much as Rs 2000 depending on the model and variant. This means even buyers who recently shortlisted a phone could end up paying a higher amount if they proceed with the purchase now.
Entry level smartphones appear to have taken a more noticeable hit. Devices such as the Galaxy M06 and Galaxy F06 have reportedly seen their prices jump by between Rs 1500 and Rs 2000. Similarly, the Galaxy M07 and Galaxy F07 are said to have become costlier by close to Rs 1900, making them less attractive for price sensitive buyers.
In the mid range segment, the impact is relatively moderate but still significant. Models like the Galaxy M36 and Galaxy F36 have seen an increase of around Rs 1000. Meanwhile, the Galaxy M17 5G has reportedly become dearer by up to Rs 1500. Other devices, including the Galaxy M17e and Galaxy F70, have experienced smaller adjustments in the range of Rs 500 to Rs 1000.
The price revision was first highlighted by well known tipster Abhishek Yadav, who shared details of the changes on social media. Although Samsung has not made a formal announcement explaining the reasons behind the hike, industry observers point to rising production costs and supply chain pressures as possible factors.
Looking ahead, there is cautious optimism around Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphones. Early indications suggest that the base variants of devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 could retain pricing similar to their predecessors, offering some relief to premium buyers. However, higher storage variants may still see an upward revision, reflecting ongoing cost challenges.
Samsung is believed to be working on balancing its pricing strategy by optimizing internal costs and using more established display materials, aiming to keep its products competitive despite external pressures. For now, consumers considering a Galaxy M or F series phone may want to double check current prices before making a purchase decision, as even small changes can affect overall value.
