Telangana has completed preparations for the upcoming NEET UG examination, with authorities putting in place extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and secure process across the state.

Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao reviewed the readiness of exam centres and emphasized coordination among departments. Officials confirmed that 199 centres have been set up across 24 districts, capable of accommodating more than seventy six thousand candidates, while registrations this year stand at over seventy three thousand.

The examination will be conducted in pen and paper mode at government institutions. To manage the process effectively, A Narendra Kumar has been appointed as the state nodal officer. A multi level coordination system has been established, involving state and district level committees with support from police and the National Testing Agency.

Authorities have directed district collectors and police officials to personally inspect the centres. Security has been strengthened with police personnel deployed at each location and strict monitoring of crowd movement. Measures such as dual layer frisking, biometric verification and surveillance systems will be implemented to maintain exam integrity.

Facilities including uninterrupted power supply, CCTV coverage, drinking water, sanitation and waiting areas for parents have been arranged. In view of rising temperatures, medical camps and ambulances will be stationed near centres to handle emergencies.

Transport and storage of question papers will be carried out under tight security, with constant monitoring to prevent any irregularities. Candidates have been instructed to report by early afternoon, as entry gates will close well before the exam begins.

Officials said control rooms will function in all districts to address issues in real time, ensuring quick coordination with the National Testing Agency. The comprehensive planning aims to provide a safe and hassle free experience for candidates appearing for one of the most important entrance examinations in the country.
