Indian badminton star PV Sindhu has safely returned to India after being stranded in Dubai due to the ongoing conflict involving the United States Israel and Iran. The sudden closure of Dubai airport forced her to abandon her travel plans to Birmingham, ruling her out of the prestigious All England Championship.

Sindhu had left for the United Kingdom to participate in the All England Championship but was stuck in Dubai when flight operations were suspended. After waiting for several days amid uncertainty, she finally flew back and landed in Bengaluru on Tuesday morning March 03.

Taking to social media, Sindhu confirmed that she had reached home safely. She mentioned that she would take some time to rest before focusing on her upcoming plans and tournaments.

The Badminton Association of India officially announced that Sindhu would not be competing in this edition of the All England Championship. Her absence comes as a disappointment for fans who were hoping to see her perform on one of badminton’s biggest stages.

Meanwhile, other Indian shuttlers managed to reach Birmingham through alternative routes via Singapore and Africa. Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty arrived without major disruptions. India’s hopes in the tournament now rest on Lakshya Sen and the doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.

Lakshya Sen faces a tough opening round challenge against world number one Shi Yuqi of China, while Ayush Shetty is set to compete against Alwi Farhan of Indonesia.

Though missing the All England Championship is a setback, Sindhu’s safe return has brought relief to her fans. The focus now shifts to her recovery and preparation for future international events.
