Russia has reaffirmed its commitment to supply crude oil to India regardless of global uncertainties. Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov said Moscow remains prepared to provide oil to India at any time even as geopolitical tensions raise concerns about energy markets.

Speaking to journalists in New Delhi, Alipov emphasised that the decision about oil suppliers ultimately belongs to India. However, he assured that Russia would always remain willing to continue its energy partnership with the country.

His remarks come at a time when rising tensions in West Asia have raised fears of disruptions in global oil supply. Concerns have also grown over the possible closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil transportation, which could significantly affect international fuel prices.

Alipov stressed that Russia values its energy cooperation with India and stands ready to support the country’s energy needs under any circumstances. According to him, the choice of suppliers should remain a sovereign decision taken by the Indian leadership.

The ambassador also spoke about the ongoing conflict in West Asia and called for diplomatic dialogue to resolve the crisis. He said that political negotiations remain the only effective path to reduce tensions and restore stability in the region.

When asked how long the conflict might continue, Alipov responded that predicting the duration of the war was difficult and suggested that the answer might be better known to the United States.

Russia has also strongly criticised recent military actions by the United States and Israel targeting Iran. Moscow said the attacks violated the principles of international law and could threaten both regional and global stability.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed the situation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi over a phone conversation. During the discussion, Iran explained the steps it was taking in response to what it described as aggressive actions by the United States and Israel.

Russia called for an immediate halt to the attacks on Iran and urged a return to diplomatic negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear programme. Moscow also expressed readiness to support discussions through the United Nations Security Council to find a peaceful resolution.

Recent missile and drone strikes between Iran and its adversaries have heightened tensions across West Asia. With the situation remaining volatile, Russia’s assurance about continuing oil supply to India has drawn international attention.
