Hanumakonda, Dec 27: “Lions Club is a service organization that renders immediate support to those in distress. 320F of erstwhile Warangal district has been rendering exceptional and extraordinary services to the poor and the needy,” said Multiple Council Chairman M. Vidyasagar Reddy. Participating as the chief guest in ‘Seva Sri’ programme of the Region-IV Meet chaired by Regional Chairman Katanguri Ramgopal Reddy along with the first lady of the region Subhashini at KLN Convention on Monday evening, Vidyasagar Reddy said, “320F of combined Warangal district is in the first position in all types of service sector at the national multiple level.” Multiple Council Chairman Vidyasagar Reddy had all the praise for the 76 clubs in the combined Warangal district for spending Rs.1 lakh everyday through their service activities and termed the services rendered by Region Chairman Ramgopal Reddy as exemplary. Speaking on the occasion, District Educational Officer of Hanumakonda district Dr Abdul Hai said, “It is commendable that Lions have adopted government schools through Lions Clubs and helped in the creation of basic facilities.”
Region Chairman Ramgopal Reddy donated notebooks, first-aid kits and sports material to the students and government schools worth Rs.5 lakh on the occasion, who initiated programs to further strengthen government schools through 9 clubs in Region-IV. Lions Club of Hanamkonda Tricity, Hanumakonda Sahasi, Hanumakonda Ethics, Hanumakonda Dhira, Warangal Nitinians and Engineers, Wardhannapet, Hanumakonda Abhaya, Hanumakonda Sevamitra, Hanumakonda Srinivasa Ramanujan club members in the region dressed in uniform and displayed placards with scintillating dance performances detailing the service programs provided by the clubs during the last six months.
Marapalli Reshma, an MBBS student from Kondur village, was donated a total of Rs.32,000 on the occasion, Rs.15,000 by Wardhannapet Club, Rs.10,000 by Multiple Chairman Vidyasagar Reddy, Regional Chairman Rs.5000 by Region-IV Chairman Katanguri Ramgopal Reddy and Rs.2000 by District Leader Sudhakar Reddy. Later Sewing machines, wheelchairs, sports equipment and fans worth Rs.5 lakh were donated by Region Chairman Katanguri Ramgopal Reddy in the region meet.
The Region Meet is significant as the first regional conference was held in the 8 Lion regions of the joint district. Multiple leaders, former district governors Mucha Raji Reddy, Prof. Vangala Gopal Reddy, Dr. K Rajender Reddy, T. Lakshminarasimha Rao, Pokala Chander, KC John Bunny, District Leaders Nagabandi Ravinder, Alladi Prabhakar Rao, Chandragiri Prasad, Region Meet Chairman Revuri Ramana Reddy, Sriram Srinivas, Markala Yadi Reddy, Triveni Reddy, Akula Mahesh Kumar, T Narender, Kalyanapu Rajamouli, Bajaj, Ushamartha, Rayguri Venkanna, Venkata Swamy, Dornala Venkateshwarlu, Dr. Bairi Lakminarayana, Vanam Gopal Rao, Zone Chairman Jannapureddy Raji Reddy, Bommineni Narsimha Reddy, Region Secretary Gopu Raghupathi Reddy, Zone Chairman Tirunagari Narender and others participated while Venumadhav and Nellutla Ramadevi were the masters of ceremony. As a part of the program, 2023 diary in the name of Lions was released by the participating guests.
