G20 Presidency offers to promote India’s richcultural heritage and diversity: Guv Dr Tamilisai

Nizamabad, Feb 25: “Our country assuming the G20 Presidency offers a great opportunity to promote our rich cultural heritage and diversity,” said Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan. Participating as the chief guest at the inaugural of the National Conference on “India’s G20 Presidency: Opportunities and Challenges” at the Telangana University in Nizamabad on Saturday, the Governor exhorted the educational institutions to organise different events to showcase our country’s achievements in different sectors. Highlighting the role played by India in ensuring the declaration of the International Year of Millets, the Governor remarked, “The International Day of Yoga is also a great testimony to our ancient and Indian Knowledge Systems.” Advising the students and the universities’ administration to grow more trees and transform the campuses as the Green Campuses, she said that she was disheartened at the incidents of ragging and harassment at educational institutions. The Governor asked the students to be courageous and fight against such unwarranted practices. Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has advised the universities to promote innovation, research, and development. The National Conference was jointly organised by the Telangana University in collaboration with the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM). Delivering the key-note address, G. Laxman emphasised on the potential of educational institutions to contribute for the Self-Reliant India. Telangana University Vice Chancellor Prof. D. Ravinder, Conference Director Dr. Satyanarayana, Registrar Prof. Vidya Vardhini were among others who spoke on the occasion.
