A tragic accident in Nellore district claimed the lives of two teenagers after they accidentally came into contact with electrified fencing around farmland, triggering shock, fire, and instant death.

Andhra Pradesh: A devastating incident unfolded in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, where two teenage boys lost their lives after accidentally touching electrified wires installed around an agricultural field. The tragedy occurred in Bonigarlapadu village of Varikuntapadu mandal, leaving the local community in deep shock.
According to preliminary information, the victims were travelling on a motorcycle when they unknowingly brushed against high voltage electric wires fixed as fencing around a red gram field. The sudden electric shock caused flames to erupt instantly, leaving both youths with no chance of survival.
The deceased have been identified as Mekala Ganesh and Talapala Ramesh, both aged 18 and residents of Bonigarlapadu village. The powerful current not only killed them on the spot but also reduced their motorcycle to ashes. With no one nearby at the time of the incident, immediate rescue was impossible.
The incident took place on Sunday, January 25, and has cast a pall of gloom over the village. Grieving family members and stunned villagers gathered at the site as news of the tragedy spread, struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.
Police rushed to the scene after receiving information and shifted the bodies for post mortem examination. A case has been registered, and officials have begun investigating the circumstances that led to the electrification of the farmland fencing.
Authorities are examining whether the electric wires were illegally installed and if safety norms were violated. The incident has once again raised serious concerns about the dangers posed by unauthorized electrified fencing in rural areas, especially near public pathways.
