The Andhra Pradesh government is preparing to distribute February month pensions earlier than usual, with payments scheduled for January 31. The advance release comes as February 1 falls on a Sunday, when secretariat staff will be on holiday.

Officials say the state is giving special importance to the NTR Bharosa pension scheme, which currently supports nearly 61 lakh beneficiaries every month. The government believes timely and efficient pension delivery plays a crucial role in supporting vulnerable sections across the state.

This time, several operational changes have been introduced to make distribution smoother for secretariat employees and beneficiaries alike. A revamped digital portal has been enabled with new mapping features to help staff plan and execute door to door pension delivery more efficiently.

Under the updated system, pensioners are grouped into area based clusters. Employees are assigned specific clusters, allowing them to quickly identify eligible households and complete payments without confusion. These internal changes do not affect beneficiaries directly, who will continue to receive pensions as usual.

The portal also allows pensioners to be reassigned or removed from clusters when required. This helps address cases where beneficiaries have relocated, passed away, or are otherwise ineligible, ensuring accurate and faster distribution.

Another major improvement is the option to add eligible pensioners both online and offline. Even in areas with poor internet connectivity, employees can record details through mobile applications and sync data later. Officials say these changes will help ensure pensions are delivered promptly and without delays on January 31.
