A major corruption probe has surfaced in Vizianagaram district after Anti Corruption Bureau officials carried out raids linked to a home guard suspected of possessing assets far beyond his known income.

The searches were conducted at the residence of Netti Srinivasa Rao in S Kota area along with locations connected to his relatives and close associates.

ACB teams began the operation early in the morning and examined financial records documents and property details as part of the investigation.

Officials estimate that the home guard may have accumulated assets worth nearly twenty crore rupees during his service period.

Srinivasa Rao has reportedly been working as a home guard for nearly fifteen years and is currently posted at the Vizianagaram district police office.

The scale of the alleged assets has triggered widespread discussion as such wealth is considered highly unusual for someone holding a temporary and low income government position.

Investigators are now trying to trace the source of funds and identify whether others played a role in helping conceal or manage the assets.

Sources indicate that the ACB is also examining whether advance information about the raids was leaked enabling movement of cash before searches began.

The investigation remains ongoing and officials said further action will depend on the evidence gathered during the searches.
