The Andhra Pradesh Assembly will begin its new session on February 11, marking the start of a crucial legislative phase for the state. Proceedings will commence at 10 am, followed by the Governor’s address to a joint sitting of both Houses.

Soon after the inaugural address, a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee will be held to finalise the duration and structure of the sessions. Officials indicated that the Assembly could sit for nearly twenty days, depending on the flow of business and discussions.

A key highlight of the session will be the presentation of the state budget for the 2026–27 financial year. Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav is scheduled to table the budget on February 14, setting the tone for fiscal planning and development priorities in the coming year.

Meanwhile, Assembly Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu will hold a series of preparatory meetings ahead of the sessions. These include reviews on cultural programmes for MLAs and MLCs, coordination meetings with senior officials on question hour procedures, and discussions with police leadership to ensure tight security arrangements throughout the Assembly sittings.

Officials said these preparatory steps are aimed at ensuring smooth conduct of the sessions, effective legislative debate, and robust security as lawmakers gather in large numbers.
