A shocking murder in Visakhapatnam has exposed disturbing details as police continue their investigation into the killing of 29 year old Mounika in LV Nagar. The accused, identified as Chintada Ravindra, has reportedly confessed to the crime after surrendering to the police.
According to investigators, the accused and the victim had known each other since the lockdown period, having met through a dating application. Their relationship later turned tense, with disputes reportedly arising over money.
Police revealed that Ravindra claimed he had given around 3.5 lakh rupees to Mounika and alleged that she was pressuring him for more. He told officials that ongoing harassment and arguments led to the fatal incident.
On the day of the crime, Ravindra invited Mounika to an apartment in LV Nagar. Shortly after she arrived, an argument broke out between them, which escalated into a violent attack resulting in her death.
Investigators found that the accused had planned aspects of the crime in advance, including purchasing knives earlier from Gajuwaka. After the murder, he attempted to erase evidence by cleaning blood stains and spraying perfume inside the house to suppress the smell.
In a further attempt to conceal the crime, he reportedly dismembered the body and stored parts in a refrigerator. He later burned the victim’s head and mobile phone in a remote area.
The case took a turn when Ravindra informed a friend about the incident. Alarmed by the confession, the friend advised him to surrender, after which he approached the Gajuwaka police.
Police officials are continuing their investigation to gather more evidence and confirm all aspects of the case, which has sent shockwaves across the city.
