Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced plans to introduce a new system to curb food adulteration, aiming to strengthen public safety and ensure quality standards in essential food supplies.

Speaking during an informal media interaction, the Chief Minister said the government is studying laws from across the country to design a strong and effective mechanism. He indicated that the proposed system would function on the lines of existing enforcement models to tackle violations strictly.

Highlighting broader concerns, he pointed out that illegal hoarding of essential commodities is a serious issue that directly impacts the common public. The government believes that strict monitoring and regulation are necessary to prevent exploitation in the supply chain.

Reddy also spoke about reforms in the ration distribution system, stating that the shift towards fine rice distribution has reduced the influence of black market networks. He added that the initiative has helped both farmers and consumers by improving accessibility and fairness.

On the agricultural front, the Chief Minister emphasized that farmers often lack control over pricing, leaving them vulnerable to middlemen. He reiterated that the government is committed to protecting farmers’ rights and ensuring fair returns through supportive policies.

Encouraging diversification, he noted that farmers are being guided toward commercial crops to enhance income opportunities while maintaining food security for the state.

The Chief Minister also raised concerns about proposed changes in constituency restructuring at the national level. He warned that disproportionate increases in seats could create regional imbalance, particularly affecting southern states.

He stressed the need for broader discussions on such issues, stating that decisions impacting regional representation should be handled carefully to maintain balance and fairness in governance.
