Former minister and BRS leader Harish Rao launched strong criticism against the Telangana government, raising concerns over the functioning of emergency healthcare services and questioning whether citizens were receiving the level of support promised to them.

Referring to recent incidents from different parts of the state, Harish Rao said the situations highlighted serious shortcomings in the public healthcare structure. He alleged that people from economically weaker backgrounds were facing increasing difficulties during medical emergencies.

He drew attention to an incident reported in Tandur where a pregnant woman was said to have repeatedly sought ambulance assistance during labor pain. According to his remarks, the ambulance did not arrive on time, forcing the woman to deliver her child at a railway platform. He described the incident as deeply concerning and said such situations should never happen in a healthcare system.

Harish Rao also mentioned another case from Bhadrachalam involving a family that reportedly struggled to transport the body of a deceased relative due to a lack of available support services. He stated that the family was left with no option but to carry the body themselves, calling it a painful example of systemic failure.

Recalling the previous administration, he said emergency services such as the 108 ambulance network and support vehicles introduced for public welfare had played a crucial role for low income families. He questioned why those services had weakened and claimed that emergency support systems must remain available to people in times of need.

The former minister urged the state government to immediately focus on restoring emergency healthcare facilities and ensure uninterrupted ambulance and support services in every district. He also demanded accountability and said citizens deserve access to timely medical care and basic human dignity during critical moments in life.
