Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has announced a key update regarding the Talliki Vandanam scheme, bringing relief and clarity to students and their families across the state. Speaking at a public program in Vinjamur of Nellore district, he confirmed that the scheme funds for the upcoming academic year will be released in June.
The government is planning to credit the financial assistance directly into the bank accounts of mothers on the very day schools reopen, which is expected to be June 12. This move is aimed at ensuring that families have timely support for educational expenses at the beginning of the academic year.
Under the scheme, each eligible student will receive financial aid of fifteen thousand rupees. Out of this amount, two thousand rupees will be allocated towards school or college development funds, while the remaining thirteen thousand rupees will be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s account.
The scheme covers students studying from Class 1 to Intermediate in both government and private institutions. To qualify, students must maintain at least seventy five percent attendance. Additionally, the bank account linked to receive the funds should be in the name of the mother. In cases where the mother is not present, the amount will be credited to the father or guardian.
Officials have also emphasized the importance of Aadhaar linkage with bank accounts to ensure smooth and timely transfer of funds. Proper compliance with these requirements is necessary for beneficiaries to receive the assistance without delays.
The Talliki Vandanam scheme has already shown significant reach in the previous year, benefiting over 67 lakh students with financial assistance amounting to more than eight thousand crore rupees. Compared to earlier implementations, the scheme coverage has expanded considerably, reaching a larger percentage of students under the current administration.
With this announcement, the government aims to strengthen educational support for families and reduce the financial burden on parents, ensuring that students can continue their studies without interruptions.
