Regional air connectivity received a major boost as Fly91 launched its new flight service between Vijayawada and Hyderabad, marking another step in expanding affordable travel options in South India.
The service was virtually inaugurated by Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, who praised the airline for its steady growth under the UDAN scheme since its launch in 2024. He highlighted the airline’s efforts in strengthening connectivity across southern states.
Operations will begin with daily flights departing Vijayawada at 7.30 am and arriving in Hyderabad by 8.40 am. Officials also confirmed that from April 17, additional services will be introduced, increasing the frequency and convenience for passengers traveling between the two cities.
The airline plans to operate around 22 services from Hyderabad, signaling its intention to expand aggressively in the regional aviation sector. Authorities also revealed that Fly91 is exploring future routes connecting cities such as Dubai, Varanasi and Kochi.
The launch event was formally conducted with state officials including Kollu Ravindra and Kommarreddy Pattabhiram, who handed boarding passes to passengers, marking the beginning of the service.
Fly91, headquartered in Goa, has been steadily building its network by connecting smaller cities through regional routes. Along with Vijayawada, the airline is also initiating services from Rajahmundry to Hyderabad, further strengthening connectivity within Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the government is continuing to push infrastructure development at key airports including Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and Kadapa. Officials stated that the Bhogapuram International Airport near Visakhapatnam is expected to be completed by June, with inauguration plans in July.
The introduction of this new route is expected to enhance travel efficiency, reduce journey time and support economic activity between the two major cities.
