Polling for the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal began early this morning, with voters turning up at booths amid tight security and organized arrangements by election authorities.
In Tamil Nadu, voting is being held in a single phase across all 234 constituencies, making it a crucial day for the state’s political future. Meanwhile, West Bengal is witnessing polling in 152 constituencies as part of the first phase, with more rounds scheduled in the coming days.
Amid the ongoing voting process, Narendra Modi appealed to citizens to actively take part in the democratic exercise. In a message shared with the public, he encouraged voters to come out in large numbers and make their participation count.
The Prime Minister placed special emphasis on youth and women voters, urging them to lead the way in achieving a record turnout. He highlighted that voting is not just a right but also a responsibility that plays a key role in shaping the future of the state.
Polling started at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm across both states. Election officials have put in place extensive arrangements at polling stations to ensure a smooth and peaceful process for all voters.
The counting of votes for these elections is scheduled to take place on May 4, when the results will determine the next governments in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
