A fresh spell of rain is set to impact both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with the India Meteorological Department issuing a weather alert for the next three to four days. The forecast points to thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across several regions, even as summer heat continues in parts of the two states.

According to meteorological officials, a trough extending from Maharashtra across Karnataka and Rayalaseema towards Tamil Nadu, along with a cyclonic circulation over north Tamil Nadu and nearby areas, is influencing the current weather conditions. These systems are expected to trigger intermittent rainfall activity in both states.

In Andhra Pradesh, moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in North Coastal, South Coastal, and Rayalaseema regions. Coastal districts may witness light to moderate showers over the next couple of days, while winds could reach speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in some places.

Telangana is also experiencing fluctuating weather, with a mix of heat and sudden showers. Several districts including Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Gadwal are expected to receive rain with thunderstorms and strong winds. Authorities have issued yellow warnings for many of these districts.

The rain activity is expected to continue through April 26, after which dry conditions may gradually return across Telangana from April 27.

While the rainfall is likely to bring some relief from rising temperatures, it has raised concerns for farmers, especially those with crops in the harvesting stage. Agricultural officials have advised farmers to remain cautious and take preventive steps to avoid losses.

Farmers have been urged to move harvested crops such as paddy and chilli to safer locations or cover them with protective sheets to prevent damage from unexpected rain and winds. The advisory highlights the need for vigilance during this period of unstable weather conditions.
