A sharp rise in temperatures across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has pushed both states into a worrying weather situation, with authorities issuing alerts and urging people to remain cautious. The ongoing Weather Update highlights how unpredictable climate patterns are affecting daily life, as scorching heat is now being followed by sudden spells of rain and thunderstorms.
Telangana is currently facing the worst of the heatwave, with temperatures expected to touch between 44 and 46 degrees in several northern and central districts. Due to the intensity of the heat, officials have issued a red alert, warning residents to avoid unnecessary exposure during peak hours. While some parts of southern and eastern Telangana may receive light showers, the overall situation remains severe. Hyderabad residents, however, may experience temporary relief as rain is expected on April 28 and 29. Despite this, experts caution that heat levels could surge again from May 1, potentially reaching up to 45 degrees.
In Andhra Pradesh, the heatwave has also intensified significantly, with temperatures rising well above normal levels. Several districts are recording temperatures nearly five degrees higher than usual. Anantapur recorded a high of 44.8 degrees, while Kambham reported 44.7 degrees, reflecting the harsh conditions across the state. Around 198 mandals in 16 districts have already crossed the 41 degree mark, making outdoor activities increasingly difficult for residents.
Hot winds blowing from the northwest are further worsening the situation, creating uncomfortable and potentially dangerous conditions. However, there is a slight shift expected in the coming days. According to the latest Weather Update, coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions may receive thunderstorms accompanied by lightning between April 28 and 29, offering brief respite from the extreme heat.
Meteorologists emphasize that the next ten days will be crucial as the region continues to experience rapid weather changes. With both extreme heat and sudden rainfall in the forecast, people are advised to stay alert, stay hydrated, and follow official guidelines to avoid health risks.
