Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has acknowledged the growing impact of the Swachh Rathas initiative, describing it as a major step forward in improving sanitation across rural Andhra Pradesh. He credited the program for simplifying waste management and encouraging people to actively participate in cleanliness efforts.
In a message shared on social media, Pawan Kalyan expressed his gratitude to actor Nani for contributing to public awareness about the initiative. He noted that such support plays a key role in reaching more people and strengthening the movement at the grassroots level.
The Swachh Rathas program focuses on collecting dry waste from villages and converting it into useful resources. Officials reported that in April alone, around nineteen lakh kilograms of dry waste were collected, marking a significant milestone.
As part of the initiative, essential goods worth over three crore rupees were distributed to residents in exchange for waste materials. This approach has encouraged villagers to adopt better waste segregation practices and actively engage in maintaining cleanliness.
Authorities believe that offering items like books and stationery in return for dry waste has shown positive results, especially in motivating families and children to participate. The initiative is seen as a practical way to connect environmental responsibility with everyday benefits.
Pawan Kalyan emphasized that Swachh Rathas are part of the broader vision to achieve Swachh Bharat and Swachh Andhra goals. He stated that the continued involvement of citizens will be crucial in sustaining the progress made so far.
