The Telangana government has stepped up efforts to position the state as a major global destination for aerospace, defence and information technology industries with fresh investments and large scale employment opportunities.

In a significant development, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu laid the foundation stone for the new ITP Aero India manufacturing facility at Hardware Park in Maheshwaram of Rangareddy district. The project is being developed with an estimated investment of Rs.453 crore.

The upcoming aerospace facility will spread across nearly 10 acres and focus on manufacturing critical aircraft engine components for the international aviation sector. Officials said the project is expected to initially provide jobs to around 350 skilled professionals, with employment likely to rise to nearly 600 in the future.

Speaking during the event, the minister said Telangana has consistently emerged as one of the country’s leading aerospace destinations and has won recognition as the best state for aerospace development for five consecutive years.

He added that the state government is now concentrating on future technologies including drone systems, satellite communication and advanced aerospace manufacturing to strengthen Telangana’s global presence in the sector.

At the same time, Hyderabad is also witnessing fresh investments in the IT sector. German chemical giant BASF has announced plans to establish two Global Capability Centres in Hyderabad. These centres will operate under the names Global Digital Hub and Global Services Hub.

According to officials, the two upcoming BASF centres are expected to create employment opportunities for nearly 3,000 skilled professionals in the city. Representatives of the company handed over official agreements in the presence of Minister Sridhar Babu and senior government officials.

The Telangana government has also set an ambitious target of bringing 100 new Global Capability Centres to the state within a year. Officials believe this initiative could generate nearly one lakh new jobs for IT professionals across Telangana.

The minister said the decision of international companies with long global histories such as BASF to expand operations in Hyderabad reflects growing confidence in Telangana’s industrial and investment policies.

Senior officials, representatives from BASF and ITP Aero Group Chief Executive Officer Eva Azoulay participated in the programmes related to the new projects.
