A tragic road accident in Nellore district claimed the lives of two women after the car they were travelling in overturned near Atmakur village. Police said two other passengers suffered injuries and are currently recovering.
The victims were identified as Bhagyamma and Lashmamma, both members of an orchestra troupe returning home after attending a programme. According to investigators, all four occupants were travelling together when the accident occurred on the outskirts of the village.
Police officials stated that the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid hitting a buffalo that suddenly came onto the road. The car overturned during the attempt, leading to a severe impact that left two women dead at the scene.
The injured passengers were shifted for medical treatment soon after local residents and police personnel reached the accident spot. Authorities confirmed that the condition of the injured persons is stable.
The sudden deaths of the two women have left their families and local community in deep shock. Residents in the area said accidents involving stray cattle have become a growing concern on several roads in the region.
