The South India times Jagtial: Rakshabandhan celebrations were celebrated grandly in Jagtial district. On the occasion of Rakhi Purnima, Jagityala, Korutla , Metpalli, Dharmapuri, Raikal, Kondagattu, etc. became crowded with people buying rakhis and sweets in shops to tie rakhis for their brothers. While Rakshabandhan stands as a symbol of the bond between brothers and sisters, elder sisters and younger sisters come from far away places to tie rakhis to their brothers and sisters and strengthen their ties by tying rakhis to their brothers who are abroad, in Mumbai, Sudura, by post or courier. While tying rakhis and feeding them sweets, the brothers gave them money and new clothes as gifts.

The movie song “Anna, Chelli Supshinam Janma, Janmala Sambandham” enchanted everyone and the Rakhi festival became popular according to the wealth. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Jagtial legislators Dr. MSanjay Kumar and Jagtial District Collector Gugulothu Ravi were congratulated by Municipal Commissioner Swaroopa RaniTatiparthi Shobharani, chairman of Panchayat Raj Chamber of Pegdapalli Mandal Batikepalli, Jagtial District tied rakhis to Pegadapally bus RTC driver and conductor of Jagtial depot
