The outpouring of response to blood donation camps

The South India times Nizamabad The blood donation camps organized by the respective constituencies in the district on Wednesday to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of India’s Independence got an unexpected response. Following the call of the government machinery, blood donors came forward voluntarily and expressed the importance of Vajrotsavam. Police officers, staff, employees of various departments, officials of trade unions, managers of voluntary organizations, representatives of local organizations, and a large number of youths showed interest in donating blood and made this program a success. Along with the government blood bank staff, Red Cross Society and Health Department staff collected blood from the donors and transported it to the respective blood banks. Nizamabad Urban Constituency organized a blood donation camp at Bala Bhawan in the district center by Mayor Neethukiran, Police Commissioner K.RNagaraju, and Additional Collector Chandrasekhar started. About 750 donors donated blood on this occasion.

The chief guests felicitated the donors and presented certificates of appreciation. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor suggested that people should come forward to donate blood even during normal times, especially the youth should take the initiative. He said that by donating blood, those who are in danger will have a chance to save their lives from danger. He said that the blood donated by donors is crucial in saving the lives of those suffering from thalassemia, seriously injured in road accidents, and pregnant women during childbirth.
