Sub-Inspector in ACB trap

The South India times Hyderabad: The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday caught red-handed Sub-Inspector of Police, Bhupalpally Police Station in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district when he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 25,000. The Accused Officer (AO) Islavath Naresh was caught red-handed at his government quarter, when he demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs.25,000 from the complainant Chekurthi Udayshank ar of Bhupalpally for doing official favor to settle the money dispute between the complainant and one Kasanagottu Sunitha and not to book a case against the complainant, an ACB statement here said.

The Accused Officer thereby, performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly. The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of AO at his instance and the Right-hand fingers of AO yielded positive results in the chemical test. The AO was being arrested and produced before the First Addl. Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, here, the statement added.
