A sudden death in the family of noted film lyricist Chandrabose has taken an unexpected turn, with questions now being raised about the circumstances surrounding his brother Rajender’s demise. What was initially believed to be a case of cardiac arrest is now under investigation after family members pointed out unusual injuries on the body.
Rajender, aged around 60, had recently travelled to Bengaluru for business work and was on his return journey when the incident occurred. After completing his work, he reached Madanapalle and later went to Kalikiri in Annamayya district to meet a friend. With the friend unavailable, he stayed there overnight.
On Sunday morning, Rajender reportedly experienced chest discomfort and visited a private hospital. Medical tests at the time did not indicate any serious condition. However, shortly after stepping out and having breakfast, he collapsed on the road and died instantly, shocking those nearby.
While local authorities initially treated the case as a natural death due to a possible heart attack, the situation changed after his family arrived. His wife, Vasantha, raised concerns after noticing injuries on his body, including blisters and skin damage on his hands. She filed a complaint with Dundigal police in Hyderabad, prompting the registration of a zero FIR.
Following the complaint, police initiated a detailed investigation to examine all possible angles. Rajender’s body has been shifted to a hospital in Bachupally for postmortem examination, which is expected to clarify the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, local police in Kalikiri maintain that prolonged exposure to heat after his collapse and his existing diabetic condition may have caused the skin-related injuries. However, officials acknowledge that only the postmortem report will provide definitive answers.
The incident has cast a shadow over Chandrabose’s family, with the lyricist currently returning from an overseas trip upon hearing the news. Rajender, who worked as a conductor and was also involved in real estate, was considered a key support figure in the family. His hometown Parakala is also mourning the sudden and uncertain loss.
