Bengaluru, Jan 8: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday lauded the activities of Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat and hoped that it will grow in stature as a national level renowned institution.
Inaugurating the 20th Chitrasanthe being jointly organised by the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat and State Higher Education Department in Bengaluru on Sunday, the chief minister said the parishat was a unique and reputed body which has done a lot of work for the development of art and culture.
The chief minister promised to extend all help and support from the State Government to help in the growth and development of the parishat. The Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat should grow on par with National School of Drama, IIT, IIM and NLSUI and make Karnataka proud, he said. The chief minister felt the Chitrasanthe must be a two-day event so that more and more people could get acquainted with art and even artisans.
Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat president Dr B L Shankar, Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, BJP MP P C Mohan, Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad, artist Lakshman Gowda and other dignitaries were present.
