Five Killed and Several Injured in Chikkaballapur Chain Collision
A devastating multi vehicle crash near a temple in Karnataka claimed five lives and left more than ten people injured prompting an immediate emergency response and police investigation.

A tragic road accident in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur district resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to more than ten others. The incident occurred near Sunkalamma Temple in Bagepalli taluk and involved a Thar SUV, an auto rickshaw and a canter truck.
According to preliminary information, the accident unfolded when the speeding SUV reportedly rammed into an auto rickshaw travelling ahead of it. The force of the impact caused the auto to lose control and crash into a canter vehicle moving in front.
The auto rickshaw was severely damaged in the collision, leaving five occupants dead at the scene. The victims included four women and the driver. Authorities later identified all of them as residents of Bagepalli town.
Emergency services rushed to the location shortly after the crash. More than ten injured passengers were shifted to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving treatment. Some of the injured are reported to be in serious condition.
Senior police officials visited the accident site to assess the situation and oversee rescue and relief efforts. The incident caused considerable shock among local residents, many of whom gathered near the scene as emergency teams worked to assist victims.
Investigators have begun examining the circumstances that led to the collision. Police believe the sequence of impacts between the three vehicles played a major role in the severity of the accident, though a detailed inquiry is underway.
A case has been registered at the Bagepalli Police Station, and authorities are continuing their investigation to determine responsibility and gather further evidence related to the crash.
