Bengaluru Traffic Restrictions Announced Ahead of IPL Final Celebrations
Bengaluru police have imposed overnight traffic restrictions on key flyovers as authorities prepare for possible large scale celebrations following the IPL final and ensure public safety.

With excitement building around the IPL final, Bengaluru Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic restrictions on several major flyovers across the city. The measures are aimed at maintaining public safety and ensuring smooth movement of vehicles in the event of large scale celebrations.
According to the traffic advisory, restrictions will be in effect from 11 pm on May 31 until 5 am on June 1. Officials said the decision was taken as a precautionary step due to the possibility of victory celebrations and increased public gatherings after the final match.
The elevated flyover connecting Rupena Agrahara and Electronic City will remain closed to vehicle movement in both directions during the specified period. Traffic authorities believe this route could witness heavy congestion if celebratory gatherings take place.
In addition, the double decker flyover connecting Ragigudda, the Fifth Main Outer Ring Road and Hosur Road will also be closed in both directions overnight. Police have advised motorists to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes.
Despite the restrictions on flyovers, the roads beneath these structures will remain open for regular traffic. Commuters have been encouraged to use the service roads and other available routes to avoid inconvenience.
Traffic officials stated that the restrictions are part of broader arrangements being made for the IPL final. Authorities expect large numbers of cricket fans to gather across different parts of Bengaluru, particularly if celebrations continue late into the night.
Police have appealed to residents and motorists to cooperate with the temporary measures and follow traffic instructions. Officials said the arrangements are intended to prevent congestion, improve crowd management and ensure a safe environment for everyone in the city.
