Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday, November 7, said the country required Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for many more years and that the world is awestruck by India’s development under his leadership.
Speaking at the Jana Sankalpa Yathra at Kaup, CM Bommai said, “Shobha Karandlaje spoke about the revolutionary decisions of Modi government and development of the country. India requires Modi’s leadership for several years. The contribution given by Modi, who belongs to backward caste, is very important. The whole world is awestruck by the development of India.” He said, “the union government has fulfilled all the demands of state’s coastal region. Modi’s administration has taken Indian to numero uno position. India is economically sound in comparison to large nations of the world.” The chief minister said, “The whole world is praising the economical revival of India after the Covid-19 pandemic. Sagarmala project has given a new direction to the ports of the coastal region. Employment will be created in the coastal region due to changes in the CRZ norms. Central government has approved the proposal of the state government.”Referring to the Konkan railway, the chief minister said,“total electrification of Konkan railway is the gift of Modi. Ports will be connected to main cities under Gatishakti scheme. Mangaluru and Karwar ports are sanctioned for Gatishakti.”
“India is in the forefront of creating jobs using natural resources. Karnataka will contribute one million dollar to the dream of five million dollar of India. Economy of coastal region will be strengthened. Coastal Karnataka will be developed comprehensively through fishing and tourism. Jobs will be created through Sagarmala and Gatishakti schemes in the three coastal districts,” he said.
The chief minister said, “Karnataka will benefit greatly through investments. Union government is supporting the state government. He said, “Double engine government is dedicated to the development of Karnataka. We are marching ahead in the path shown by Yediyurappa.”
“Children of two lac fishermen will benefit from the Vidyanidhi scheme which has already been given to 10 lac farmers. We have sanctioned houses for 5000 fishermen families. We will take all action to increase kerosene ration of traditional fishermen,” the chief minister said.
Bommai said, “For BPL card holders of coastal region who use boiled rice, we will distribute rice bought from the farmers of coastal region itself. I have got approval for the same.Chief Minister Bommai said, “Eight ports of the coastal region will get developed. 100 high speed boats have been sanctioned. Selection process of fishermen is in progress. If fishermen invest only 10% it is enough.” “We have given SC ST reservation, which the Congress did not give in the last 50 years. BJP has taken a revolutionary stand,” he said.
The chief minister said, “MLA Lalaji is a popular and pro-people person. Felicitation is done by the Narayana Guru association. There is demand for setting up a development corporation.
I will speak with leaders and ministers and take a decision.“I am extremely delighted to see the number of people in the Jana Sankalpa Yathra. BJP will come to power in 2023. This is as truthful as sun rising in the east,” the chief minister declared. Taunting Siddaramaiah, Bommai said, “Where is your Ahinda? Where is your social justice? You are alone in the front, all others are far behind. Congress leaders are dreaming of forming the government again. First you retain the constituencies which you have won. People of Karnataka have rejected your party outright. Congress has betrayed minorities also.”
The chief minister said, “Who gobbled the Wakf property? People have taught a befitting lesson to your divide and rule policy. Congress government indulged in corruption in all fields. They did corruption in Annabhagya scheme also. In solar electricity also corruption was seen. BDA and irrigation department were also corrupt.“You did not have the guts to give reservation to SCs and STs. We gave more reservation by taking opposition into confidence. But now Congress is objecting. This is their policy. Our intention is to provide a life of self-respect to SCs and STs,” Bommai said.

“Supreme court has given orders for reservation to people of all economically poor classes. PM Modi gave reservation to economically poor people. Supreme court has upheld this decision. This will create a social revolution,” the chief minister added.

Earlier, union minister and MP Shobha Karandlaje lashed out at the Congress for its failure in containing movement of illegal migrants from Bangladesh into the country.

She said the BJP government had strengthened the country’s armed forces following the abrogation of Article 370. She said the BJP government is making an effort to deliver all the benefits of the central schemes to the people of the state and to the villages.

Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon praised Yediyurappa and Chief Minister Bommai for implementing various development projects for his constituency. He said Rs 2,898 crores had been allotted by the former chief minister Yediyurappa towards the development of Hejamadi port with central assistance available from union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Shobha Karandlaje’s initiatives.

He said that the government has provided drinking water to Kaup through Jal Jeevan Mission and the Varahi water project. Mendon has urged the government to release at least release Rs 10 crore for the development of temples, for a playground and a shelter in his constituency.
