New Delhi: Telangana state has emerged as a leader in Panchayat Raj Rural Development, winning 13 out of 46 national awards announced by the Centre. The state received eight Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Awards and five Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvotthama Panchayat Satat Vikas Awards. The awards were presented by the President of India Draupadi Murmu at the Panchayat Awards program held at Vigyana Bhavan in Delhi to mark the National Panchayat Raj Day.
Telangana’s achievement has been praised by the President of India, who congratulated the state for winning awards in eight categories. The awards were selected in nine categories. The State Panchayat Raj Rural Development and Rural Fresh Water Supply Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Sarpanchs, MPPs, Zilla Parishad Chairpersons, and officials of the respective villages received the awards at the hands of the President of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao highlighted the rural development programs being carried out by CM KCR in Telangana state and the results achieved. He also said that Telangana is the only state in the country that is providing funds equally to the Central Finance Commission. The minister expressed gratitude and thanks for receiving the awards at the hands of the President of India and congratulated the officers and public representatives who received the awards.The award ceremony was attended by high officials, public representatives, and officials from the state, including Union Minister of State for Panchayat Raj Kapil Moreshwar Patil, Secretary of Central Panchayat Raj Department Sunil Kumar, MP Oddiraju Ravichandra, State Panchayat Raj, Rural Development Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Commissioner Hanumantha Rao, and other officials, public representatives, Sarpanchs, Secretaries, DPOs, etc. of the awarded villages.
