Bengaluru has stepped up security measures ahead of the 77th Republic Day celebrations, with the Manekshaw Parade Ground fully prepared to host the official state level event. Authorities have focused on safety and crowd management to ensure smooth conduct of the ceremony.

More than two thousand police personnel have been deployed in and around the venue as part of a comprehensive security plan. Officials said the arrangements are aimed at preventing any untoward incidents during the celebrations, which will be attended by senior officials and dignitaries.

The entire Manekshaw Parade Ground area has been brought under close surveillance. Over one hundred CCTV cameras have been installed around the venue to monitor movements and maintain strict vigilance throughout the event.

The Republic Day programme will include the Governor unfurling the national flag, marking the highlight of the celebrations in the state capital. Preparations at the parade ground have been completed, with authorities conducting final inspections ahead of the ceremony.

Due to increased movement of dignitaries and the public, traffic restrictions have been imposed on key roads near the venue. Vehicle movement has been restricted on Cubbon Road, Kamraj Road, and BRV Road to manage congestion and ensure security.

Traffic police have announced that vehicles will not be allowed on certain stretches between 8.30 am and 10.30 am, including the route from BRV Junction on Cubbon Road to Kamraj Road Junction. Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes during this period.

City traffic police officials have urged the public to cooperate with the arrangements and plan their travel in advance. The measures, they said, are essential to ensure a safe and orderly Republic Day celebration in Bengaluru.
