Kalvakunta Kavitha Makes a Mark in Telangana Municipal Elections with Waddepally Win

Kalvakunta Kavitha backed candidates deliver a surprise result in Telangana municipal elections as the All India Forward Bloc secures Waddepally municipality, challenging Congress and BRS dominance across key wards.

  • Kalvakunta Kavitha backed candidates win Waddepally municipality convincingly.
  • All India Forward Bloc secures eight of ten wards, limiting Congress and BRS.
  • Telangana municipal elections see rising impact of regional political strategies.

The Telangana municipal election results have thrown up an unexpected political moment with Telangana Jagruti president Kalvakunta Kavitha emerging as a decisive force in one municipality. In a development that caught major parties off guard, the All India Forward Bloc, supported by Kavitha, secured control of Waddepally municipality in Jogulamba Gadwal district.

The Forward Bloc candidates delivered a strong performance by winning eight out of ten wards in Waddepally. Congress and BRS were restricted to just one ward each, marking a clear shift in local voter sentiment. The outcome is being seen as a calculated and well executed political move rather than a coincidence.

Kalvakunta Kavitha had extended support to Forward Bloc candidates across several municipalities, positioning her backers in 212 wards spread over 40 municipalities. While Waddepally turned into a full scale success story, her supporters also registered wins in Sultanabad, Peddapalli and Manthani, with leads reported in Ramagundam, Adilabad and Mancherial.

Political observers point out that the groundwork laid in Waddepally played a key role in the victory. The entry of local leader Waddepally Srinanna into Telangana Jagruti strengthened Kavitha’s influence in the area and helped consolidate voter support at the grassroots level.

With Forward Bloc candidates claiming confidence of crossing forty ward wins statewide, the results underline how smaller parties with focused strategies can alter local power equations in Telangana municipal politics.
