As Holi travel demand rises across the country, South Central Railway has announced an extension of several special train services to ensure smooth and comfortable journeys for passengers heading home for the festival.

Railway officials said the decision was taken to ease congestion during the festive season, as thousands of travellers plan trips from Hyderabad to southern destinations. The move aims to provide additional capacity and avoid last minute inconvenience for passengers.

The extended services will operate on key routes connecting Hyderabad with Madurai, Kollam and Kanyakumari. Officials noted that these routes usually see heavy demand during major festivals, prompting the need for additional services.

Passengers have been advised to book tickets in advance and plan their journeys early to avoid crowding and ensure a hassle free travel experience during the Holi season.

Extended Special Train Services Schedule:

Kacheguda to Madurai Train number 07191 will run every Monday from March 2 to March 23 with four services
Madurai to Kacheguda Train number 07192 will operate every Wednesday from March 4 to March 25 with four services

Hyderabad to Kollam Train number 07193 will run every Saturday from February 28 to March 28 with five services
Kollam to Hyderabad Train number 07194 will operate every Monday from March 2 to March 30 with five services

Hyderabad to Kanyakumari Train number 07230 will run every Wednesday from March 4 to March 25 with four services
Kanyakumari to Hyderabad Train number 07229 will operate every Friday from March 6 to March 27 with four services

Railway authorities reiterated that the extensions are part of broader efforts to handle festive crowds efficiently and ensure safe, timely travel for passengers during Holi.
