BJP Explores Alliance With Congress to Capture Power in Amangal

Political developments in Amangal municipality of Rangareddy district have taken an unexpected turn after the declaration of municipal election results. What initially appeared to be a straightforward path to power has now become a tense political contest.

The BRS emerged as the single largest party by winning eight of the fifteen wards while BJP secured six seats and Congress managed one. With the required majority figure reached BRS leaders acted swiftly by moving their councillors to undisclosed locations to prevent any shift in loyalty before the chairperson election.

Despite the numbers BJP has not stepped back. Party leaders are actively working on alternate strategies to gain control of the municipal body. Discussions in political circles suggest that BJP is attempting to secure support from the lone Congress councillor and also banking on ex officio votes to tilt the balance.
